  • Soothing Scents and Sounds

One commonly agreed upon awareness about trauma is that sights, sounds, scents, taste and touch (all of our senses) are deeply affected.

As profoundly as these sense can be impacted by a traumatic event or memory, so too, can we engage our brain and body to receive soothing sounds and scents that can “ground” us and/or help us to gain balance during overwhelming times.

We have listed some options below, but they are just a beginning to the exploration of sensory balancing opportunities that may help in the journey home.
